Selected from nearly 7,000 nominations across 169 countries, the 15 finalists include the entire city of Barcelona, recognized for its efforts to protect its Mediterranean coastline. The Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan was also chosen for embedding environmental protection into its national identity. Other finalists feature community-led initiatives, such as Indigenous ranger teams in Australia and an Argentinian AI-powered wildfire detection platform.

This year's Earthshot Prize ceremony will be hosted in Mumbai, India, in November. Two Indian finalists are Mahindra Last Mile Mobility, a manufacturer of electric three-wheelers, and the Mahila Housing Trust, a grassroots organization focused on climate resilience for low-income women.
